PROGRAM OVERVIEW
EnglishAhead's Checkpoint English program is designed to assist in children's language development and skill acquisition in the areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing. It offers support for children studying Lower Secondary Checkpoint English. We offer tuition classes as well as exam prep, depending on your requirements.
Taught by experienced, Cambridge-certified teachers, the courses use a blended learning approach that balances online support as well as offline practice. Our online classes are available in 1-to-1 and group format. Depending on the desired type of support, the course duration can range from 3 to 6 months long.

Our classes focus on improving each student's reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, using the Checkpoint English curriculum and course material as a benchmark. We also provide guidance for giving the Checkpoint Lower Secondary exam, if your child plans to sit for it.
At the end of their course, students will be able to:
-
sit for their Cambridge exams with confidence and appropriate time-management.
-
speak English fluently and accurately in a variety of daily situations and contexts.
-
use the correct grammar and appropriate vocabulary while communicating in English, depending on the audience and context.
-
understand and remember key information while listening to someone speaking English.
-
gain experience in comprehensively reading a variety of texts, such as newspaper reports, letters to the editor, blogs, and articles, and extract key information from their content.
-
become adept at reading and understanding fiction, and using that knowledge to write narrative and descriptive pieces of their own.
-
write accurately and appropriately for a range of different genres and audiences (as is appropriate to their age and syllabus), including but not limited to: articles, letters, blogs and reports.
